I first knew Cedric when we both lived in Broken Hill (now Kabwe) in the late 50s/early 60s. We went to cubs together and would hang out at his house. The next time I saw him was when I was doing my national service in Rhodesia (1973). We had no commissioned officers in our intake and Cedric was assigned to be our 2nd Lt. He was a good soldier who was respected because he was both a good leader as sell as being kind. My condolences to his family!
