I remember Daniel as a godly man, humble, sincere, friendly, warm, gentle, soft-spoken, well-mannered and a fine gentleman.
He & Christine have no airs, no hypocrisy. They were a perfect match for each other - a godly man with a godly woman. The children are well brought up in godly ways. Daniel & Christine made me feel comfortable in their company.
Whenever Daniel led worship, I knew I would have a good, Spirit-filled worship on that Sunday.
Daniel was so nice to extend fellowship to me while I was waiting for a bus to return home at Queensway one Sunday years ago when I had not been long in True Way. He recognised me as someone from True Way and approached me to extend his fellowship. I was touched by his gesture. Even though it was a brief conversation, I could sense that he was a sincere and warm person.
I was glad to see Daniel standing for election as a deacon and I voted wholeheartedly for him without any doubt of his calling. I also saw in him someone with Spirit-filled qualities who could be one of our church's Elders in the future and I was looking forward to that day.
I always feel the need for more men to serve in the U12 ministry and my heart was filled with joy to see Daniel getting involved in U12.
Though Daniel's sojourn on earth was brief, he had lived a very purposeful life, making the most of his life and every opportunity given to him to serve God and His people. He was a quiet man but active in service. He had accomplished the tasks and completed the race which God had set before him. I imagine Daniel walking street of gold now and worshipping God with the angels and all the heavenly beings in heaven with God the Father saying to him, "Well done, good & faithful servant."
I will miss Daniel's presence in church.
