Dear Judy, Dylan and Jordon,
We are very sad to hear of Bentley’s passing. We did not know your names but we knew he had two sons, of whom he was very proud.
I was so lucky to be passed onto Bentley when my previous advisor retired. What a lift in the quality of advice. Bentley was very consistent in the advice he offered because his underlying reasoning was very sound. He got to know us as individuals and helped us plan for what we thought important in our lives. When he asked us to take a financial leap into the unknown, we thought why are we paying if we don’t take the advice. So we did.
As a consequence, we were able to retire early and have been able to enjoy many cruises and see some wonderful places round the world. We now live in our current New Zealand bubble(!) in real comfort.
One of our jokes is when we have to decide about whether to sleep in our car which we did (which horrified Bentley especially when it was one of the coldest nights in the Rockies) or book in somewhere, we now always ask – what would Bentley say? We know the answer.
Andrew, as a consequence of Bentley’s mentorship, is now taking similar care of us.
We think of Bentley running marathons, pushing his limits, and landing on mountain tops to ski.
Thank you for providing him with the support to be able to help people like us get more out of life than we thought possible.
Be joyful about a life that gave such riches, in many senses of the word, to many people.
