Mummy still can’t find the words, so surreal can’t believe you are no longer here. I first met Mummy in 1990, when I started dating Odun, mummy loved all her children fiercely and would do anything to protect them. My relationship with Odun raised many eyebrows as we were only teenagers! Mummy kicked up quite a fuss as well. Once she realised that I was a positive influence on odun, she wooed me all the way with love expensive gifts and priceless experiences. She made sure to chase away every other girl. One of these experiences is visiting many corporate organisations especially financial institutions with her, educating me on finance. I saw the Utmost respect accorded to her due to her incredible cerebral ability, this formed my decision to become a chartered Accountant as well. On getting my first job at the Square Mile, city of London in 1999, she was so proud of me, she marched me straight to the famous C and A at Marble Arch and bought me my first set of corporate Attires.
I have been mummy’s shopping and party partner for years. She introduced me to society parties and high fashion. Mummy was elegant, sophisticated and had a great sense of panache. Mummy bought me my first Sagoe Gele and HOH Lace, and helped set my fashion style and sense. Mmummy never stops, her generosity is endless, she comes to the house and Says, “Bunmi why have you not changed these dreadful curtains, you have had it for years, anyway A cheque to change it before my next visit””. I have too many memories of mummy, Shepherds Bush and Europa, the heavenly apple pie and Custard. Mummy’s infectious laughter, we can gist for hours on end and we laugh at the same things oh my goodness, some EPIC moments
Mummy RIP, still grieving your daughter, Bunmi
