Eulogium of a daughter.
Alero Irene Pessu, it is hard for a mother to write a eulogy of her child, my love. However I must say something, and now is it!
You have been a daughter to me, ever since the day your dad, Emmanuel Pessu, brought you to Benue Cement Staff School. You are a noble daughter, beautiful inside and outside.
Lerie, you loved without reservations. You could just "show" in my house in Gboko from Abuja as if you were coming from the other end of town; bearing with you every goody that makes a mum float in the air, clothes, designer handbags, vintage perfumes...!
You have been more than a friend to our
Ana-Marie. You even adopted Eshi as your baby sister, doing all the big sisterly things to her!
Alero, your brilliance showed even in the Early Years of school. Then you became my legal luminary. I was certain you would be the first Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) from our school, paving the way for others. Then the cold hands of death struck, attempting to rob us of our angel!
Yet the Almighty who is all knowing, only allowed you to go before us...
Blaze on sweet Lerie, we'll see "at the sounding of the trump!"
Love always.
