Although we were cousins, Aileen and I only really got to know one another over the last 10 years or so. I was very close to her Mum and Dad and Aileen and I met properly at their funerals. Over the last few years we have visited one another's homes and met other family members. Family was important to Aileen and she relished meeting new members and she filled in lots of gaps for me too.
I grew very fond of Aileen and Adrian and felt there was a real connection and genuine affection. She always said goodbye with such lovely hugs! I shall really miss her.
