James Goudie:
Very sad news indeed for you all. Eldred has died.
He had been in hospital for a while and contracted coronavirus there.
He was one of the founders of Chambers. Later he was Head of Chambers.
He was for many years the unrivalled King of Employment Law. Indeed no one did more than he to create Employment Law.
He was a great and good man and a wonderful colleague.
He was not only a superlative lawyer. He excelled in many ways. He drew strength from his faith and his family. He was a distinguished President of the Board of Deputies of British Jews. Our thoughts at this time are with his wife, Jenny, and his children, Andrew, Mark and Nicola.
