Effiong Essien Essiet was born on the 17th March 1946 to his father, Chief Essien Essiet of Adiabo Okurikang in Odukpani LGA and his mother, Princess Gloria Archibong of Diamond Abapa clan, Calabar Municipal Council all in Cross River State where he spent his early childhood. He attended Sacred Heart Primary School and Duke Town Secondary School in Calabar, Cross Rivers State.
At an early age, he moved to Lagos State, Nigeria where he was gainfully employed by the Nigerian Customs Service. He was seconded to work with Kakawa House as a Customs Officer.
As a firm believer in Education, Effy travelled to Cardiff, England to study Marketing. Upon completion of his studies, he moved to London, England to further his studies in Advanced Marketing where he met his wife, Ibigoni Agolia.
In 1977, he returned to Nigeria and he started his career in Marketing, Logistics and Shipping with the Nigerian Port Authority (NPA) Apapa, Lagos. During this time, he learnt the act of running and developing a business. In 1979, he married the love of his life.
He was employed by Peterson Zochonis Nigeria (PZ Cusson) where he continued to practice his profession in Marketing, Customer Acquisition and Retention, running and developing the business.
He grew to become an Executive Manager (Controller) for PZ Apapa, where he was in charge of Tincan, Wharf and Creek Road Apapa activities/facilities until his retirement in 2005. During this time, dad picked an interest in Specialized Logistics Services.
After retirement, Dad returned to his hobby/interest and started a business in specialized logistics services. He thrived in this business until 22 April, 2020 when he was called by God to his reward.
Our dad, Mr. Effiong Essiet was a workaholic. A great man with sound and thorough values and a strong belief in the everlasting benefits of good education. Daddy was diligent to a fault, witty,intelligent and full of integrity. Soar high with God's angels daddy.
Even if you have left us physically, your footprints live on.
