I am deeply sorry to hear the news of Jonathan's passing. I supported a focus group he took part in on the role of universities in public life in 2011/12 in Cambridge and was very struck by the intelligence and nuance of his contributions. Like many others, I was also a beneficiary of his supportive professional manner when, towards the end of that project, he suggested I consider applying for a job supporting the University's new activities in Singapore. That single suggestion resulted in the most fascinating decade of my professional life and many life-changing opportunities. Thank you, Jonathan, for being such an example of good management and public service. My very sincere condolences to his family on this sudden and sad loss.
