Niagara Falls became a fun family getaway just before I started high school, and my parents would always take me to see shows at 'Oh Canada Eh?!'.
It became an annual thing. We celebrated my 17th birthday there (I believe the show was called 'Broadway Love').
Since then I've had the pleasure of joining the 'Oh Canada Eh' team and along the way my dad became their biggest fan. He made a point of seeing nearly every show, even the ones I wasn't in, just to be in the room with the incredible OCE family and share in their work. Just before he died, my dad made plans to take my mom out to Niagara to see the current production 'The Show Must Go On'. The whole show is music from my parents era (60s/70s).
A few days ago I realized that my suit, which I need for the funeral mass this coming Friday, was in the dressing room at work (left over from New Years Eve). I took this as an opportunity to make the drive out to Niagara and take my mom to see the show. Everything came full circle last night as I found myself sitting in the audience once again, this time a few days before my 31st birthday, watching an 'Oh Canada Eh?!' production that had been dedicated to the memory of my father.
