I am so lucky that I got to hang out with you when I was in England. You made this trip so much better and more fun! It has been an honour knowing you and having you as a friend x

One of the last gatherings before the first lock down in 2020... I've known Deeya since December 2015 when I first joined the centre in Damansara to teach a holiday course, so to me, Malaysia is unimaginable without Deeya even though we weren't close friends. It was only after the first lock down when KL and Damansara teachers' representatives started to work closely together and when I discovered how wise and diplomatic Deeya could be. I'm not a leader by nature, so whenever we had to deal with a difficult situation, I would always ask Deeya, and she would always find the best solution. I can't believe it's impossible from now on, that now I'll have to ask myself: "What would Deeya do?" instead of just talking to her... She'll always live in my memories.

I still remember how happy Deeya was that day and shared a few personal but very exciting news.

I feel so sad that Deeya is no longer here, but so grateful to have known her. I have many fond memories from the early days when I arrived in Malaysia, to meeting up when she came to England many years later. I will never forget her infectious laugh that you couldn’t help but smile at, and how she knew everyone, no matter where she was. My heart goes out to her family. I hope you can find some solace in all the love that has been shown for her on here.
