It was with deep sorrow that i heard of David's passing. A truer gentleman you could ever wish to have met or known.
Steady in his thoughts and as honest as the day was long it was my pleasure to serve David and his brother Graham as their accountant for many years and i don't think we ever had a crossed word, David being meticulous in his presentation of their financial records. I must have done something right because he then brought me on board as the accountant at Clifton CC and the same attention to detail followed with their records.
His retirement from the butchery trade meant that the times spent seeing David was now at the club or the local butchers we both use and he would always ask about the Swinton Lions of which we were both followers and also about how life in general was treating our families.
Those times are going to be no more but my memories of him remain.
RIP David a true friend .
