Christy Nyland was a remarkable Irishman who left Castlebar, County Mayo at the tender age of 23 years bound for Manchester, UK where he lived a full and meaningful life until the ripe old age of 93 years. He was loved and adored by his family & friends as well as being respected and admired by his work colleagues throughout his life. He was a family man, a working man, a gentleman and a spiritual man, with more than his fair share of good looks, charm and wit. It was a real joy to be in his company and if you ever had the pleasure of seeing him waltz at the Irish Club in Manchester then you were very fortunate indeed - who knew humans could glide? He embodied everything that was good in the long line of great Irishmen who were courageous enough to try and create a better future for themselves and their loved ones overseas and his contribution on both sides of the Irish Sea will live long in the hearts and minds of those who had the great pleasure of being with him. RIP.
