An advocate for education and the arts, Beverly was a "force to be reckoned with." She was the second child of the late Charles and Clarina Williams of San Diego California. She married the late Bruce Kilbourne in 1975. She is survived by her three daughters, five grandchildren, 4 siblings and a host of family and friends. She will be dearly missed for her boundless energy, resourcefulness and creativity.

Bev, My fondest memory is Bayou Classic 1999. You checked in on us as we prepared for the evening, offering occasional wardrobe suggestions, but always leaving the final decisions up to us because we thought we knew it all. Your laughter was contagious and your jokes warmed our spirits. You gave us the confidence to take on the evening as young, mothers and wives returning to our alma mater for the first time since these major milestones. You advised, encouraged, cautioned, and supported as we departed. You ask one last question, "are you guys comfortable?" We responded YES with laughter! We returned to your home after a long adventurist evening in the French Quarters to find you sitting at the kitchen table. We were busted to say the least and our bodies and wardrobes reflected it. You listened patiently to our stories filled with shenanigans and escapades, laughing with and at us- occasionally checking us out from head to toe. After conversing with us for quite some time, you simply suggested that we partake in activities more appropriate for our age and lifestyles in the future-such as alumni parties. We all burst into laughter. Life lessons remembered, dress for the occasion and always know your place. Gone but not forgotten, rest in peace Queen.

The memory that stands out for me about Aunt Beverly is when she took myself, Maisha, and Shia to either Ski Beach or Mission Beach when we were like six or seven years old. We spent the night in a tent at the beach. That is a fond memory that I will always remember about Aunt Beverly.

Beverly, i recall as a child when you would visit San Diego you were full of energy and had a smile and laugh to match. Probably one of my BEST holiday memories was Line dancing with you and going down the Soul Train Line at moms house... w/the Blevins clan. May your legacy live on through your talented children and grandchildren. Rest well. ~Tosh
