Your grandkids see your photos and ask why you never waited for them to arrive before left. Everyday we remember you and shed a year, because we miss you so dearly. Your brilliant advices, your sense of humour, your laughter, your sweet dress sense are all we have left of you. You are forever in our hearts. We love you and we are rest assured that you are with Christ Jesus looking down on us with a smile. Rest on, Sweet Dad.

I recall when I had visited home two months after my wedding. I never had the premonition that Dad was going to leave us that weekend when I left for my base. I knew the Holy Spirit was leading me home to see my dad, even when he asked that I started with hubby and I should know now that I can't be coming home as often as I did at the university. I ignored his words and visited. While there I had little conversation with Dad. Then I would retreat to my room to pray. I was led to a Bible Verse in Isaiah 28:18. I started to cancel the spirit of death but I didn't know to whom. On Saturday Dad had dressed to go out. He was to go get some spare parts for his car. Reluctantly I bade him bye because I would have gone before he gets back. I had planned to stay till Monday, 15th October before traveling back to my home. Hubby wanted me to be home in time so to celebrate church harvest and Thanksgiving together. I never knew that woul be my last time seeing my Dad. The next day came and I was in church when Mom kept calling. I saw several missed calls and I was shocked. I called back but she dropped the call. We got home from church and hubby wasn't himself. After so many pestering, he finally broke the news that Dad had passed on that afternoon. I was later told he slummed at Church and was rushed to the hospital. It was a regret I am living with, I know Dad wouldn't have died if I had postponed my traveling to Monday. God knows best. I love you always Dad. No one can occupy your space in my heart. You are indeed a rare gem. Continue to rest in perfect peace
