Ayaz and I worked very closely together coordinating the SDG Leadership Labs on behalf of the RCO and UNHCR. We had also worked together when he was working with the Kenya Red Cross Society of Kenya. I found him to be humorous, committed and a very compassionate person. We had moments of connection over shared interests and he spoke lovingly with pride of his family and his children. During the time of his illness, his commitment and determination did not waver and he remained steadfast in his work and commitment to his work. He will be truly missed. And to his family, you will remain in our prayers and thoughts as you navigate life without him.
