Austin Bamidele Oshodi

September 7, 1965 - August 29, 2020

TRIBUTE TO OUR BELOVED Austin Bamidele Oshodi; affectionately also known as AustinO, from when we were little, by those of us from this arm of the Oshodi family. Our dearly departed Brother, Son, Father, and Uncle shall be sorely missed for leaving us much too soon. But with our affirmation to uphold the will of the Almighty, we maintain our fidelity in the belief that he is surely in a better place now, and in accordance with his disposition of social dexterity, that we celebrate the Blessing of his well-deserved life. AustinO, affable, yet assertive. Often reticent, yet loquacious. Reserved, but also a deluge of social etiquette and sensibility. Indeed, like many of us, our Beloved Brother was a cauldron of complexity, and simplicity, simultaneously. Fun-loving and the life of the party, AustinO could switch from levity to seriousness when pertinent, in a heartbeat. And if you caught him in those moments of driven purpose, which palpably resonated across his whole countenance, you might misconstrue him to perhaps be an arrogant, ignoble, or even mercurial member of the human community. However, for those of us who knew him well, we understood that side of him was reserved for a pragmatic, professional intent for excellence with occupational pursuits. But if you were to garner the testimony of any of our nieces or nephews, they would proclaim him to be of one of the sweetest, most thoughtful human beings they have ever known. And I am beyond certain, that many would corroborate this perception of AustinO also. Our family could readily delineate a plethora of experiences we shared with our Beloved Brother. But as aforementioned, in our effort to celebrate his life, we have chosen not to be too specific, and instead welcome all to celebrate Austin's essence with us with your own unique expressions of life with him, and with humanity. We would like to thank you for all the kind gestures of love and sympathy since the declaration of our Beloved Austin's passing. And along with you, we pray for our Beloved, sibling, and friend to Rest In Power with the Almighty!!!.. AustinO, We Are Beyond Proud Of You!!!...

Very shocking…..too many deaths this year..what could have gone wrong with Austin Oshodi. Very gentle and peaceful, business minded easy going guy and old boy. Austin Oshodi, Just tlike a candle in the wind, you left us with a big void created by your exit. Indeed the history of the school in the last few years cannot be written without your name behind it. It could look very easy, but it meant a lot to get adequate and consistent supplies of ties for Methodist Boys’ High School, Lagos, students without which they would not be allowed into the school for their education. The ties adorned with their colours of gold, blue and maroon (colours of the school) represent the gentility and discipline which a typical MBHS Lagos student and even its old Boys Association are to be identified with. I dare say that you cannot mention Methodist Boys’ High School Lagos Old Boys’ Association and Methodist Boys’ High School Lagos, without Austin Oshodi's name being discussed, mentioned and imprinted in the annals of the history of the school whilst he was alive...."oh we are still expecting supplies of more ties from Mr. Austin Oshodi….could you check back in a fortnight". He was connected with the school one way or the other. I wonder how the school will cope without him. You could tell instantly that Austin was very dutiful with the supplies of the school ties of very good quality and a show of pride of having attended the great Alma matter. Austin came, saw and conquered. He finished well. May God eternal keep you peacefully under his bosom. May the Holy spirit the comforter, comfort your family and loved ones at this trying time. Adieu dear member of our great Alma mater. Sleep tight under the bosom of your MAKER, till we meet again at the feet of our Lord Jesus Christ the author and finisher of our faith. It is well with your soul. Shalom
