I just wanted to say how deeply and personally saddened I am today by the tragic passing of Anne Valette. I worked with her closely for four years and she was one of my closest colleagues and good friends at Greenpeace. At work, she was a brilliant mind, strategic thinker, and cared deeply about building campaigns that worked. She was an incredible leader and inspiration to me.
Above anything, she was a loving mother and we talked many times about her twins and parenthood. She left Greenpeace and when we last spoke she was happier that her new situation afforded her more time with her children. Please think of and pray for them. Nothing can be harder for them.
Anything I do moving forward to help create a sustainable world for us all, I will do it in part because of and for Anne. May she rest in peace.
