Amrapali was such a kind, lovely person as I am sure everyone who knew her will remember her to be. I knew her from my time at Stanford when I was a visiting PhD student and we became good friends immediately. She later moved to an academic position in Maastricht with Michel, where I followed later. I had many meetings with her after I started as a postdoc at Maastricht University. We had a small but very productive group, which she called “OptimAL team” meaning optimal combination of humans and machines with Active Learning. I felt we were such good friends, we always shared our opinions and advised each other. Having lost somebody I used to see every day was not only shocking to me, but it was hard for me to accept. I was lucky to know her and work with her. Rest in peace, my dear friend.
