I remember Alastair from the first day he started at the FCA. Not only did Alastair join, but so did his amazing guide dog Ace!! Alastair had a great sense of humour and was an easy person to get on with. When we were moving offices from Canary Wharf to Stratford, I acted as Alastair's guide dog for the day on how to get to our new offices. Ace was no longer a working dog, and was more comfortable at home having a snooze. So it was myself that took over for the day. Leading and showing Alastair around on the DLR and through the Stratford /Westfield shopping centre, he truly gave me an insight as to how it is being blind. He explained so much to me as to what he has to do, by listening to sound and the environment around him. How obstacles can suddenly appear one day, when it wasn't there the day before. So sad to hear that he is no longer with us, and he will be truly missed. He was and is, and an inspirational person, and I will always have fond memories of Alastair. From Debbie xx
